και η γη το Σπήλαιον, τω απροσίτω προσάγει.

Άγγελοι μετά Ποιμένων δοξολογούσι.

Μάγοι δε μετά αστέρος οδοιπορούσι.

Δι ημάς γάρ εγεννήθη, Παιδίον νέον, ο προ αιώνων Θεός.

Today the Virgin gives birth 

To him who is above all being, 

And the world,  to him whom we can never reach,

offers  a cave. 

Angels and shepherds give glory to him,

and the wise men journey guided by the star. 

For a little child has been born to us,

God of all ages.
