This Constitution (Draft Proposal) is written with the future in mind. It is intended to set forth a basic model, and fundamental principles and guidelines, for the nature and functioning of a vastly different society and government than now exists: the New Socialist Republic in North America, asocialist state which would embody, institutionalize and promote radically different relations and values among people; a socialist state whose final and fundamental aim would be to achieve, together with the revolutionary struggle throughout the world, the emancipation of humanity as a whole and the opening of a whole new epoch in human history–communism–with the final abolition of all exploitative and oppressive relations among human beings and the destructive antagonistic conflicts to which these relations give rise.
The RCP has been undertaking a campaign with world-historic stakes. As one student put it, "it's a question of whether revolution will die out with the '60s generation"...or whether it will take on new life as a vital force in the world.
People need to hear and see that things DON'T have to be this way. And they need to know there is a Party that is building a movement for revolution. We aim to make known to millions the goal and character of this revolution, communist revolution, as it has been revitalized and reconceived by Bob Avakian; to make the leader of this revolution a household word; and through all this to forge a
core of dedicated fighters who are going to advocate for this revolution and make it a driving dynamic force in society and the world.

Revolutionary May First 2010
"The Revolution We Need...The Leadership We Have"
MAY DAY in Houston kicked off the night before with a crew at the intersection of Reed and Cullen in Sunnyside. With banners and a bullhorn, drivers enthusiastically responded to May First as the international revolutionary holiday. People grabbed hundreds of copies of the RCP Message and Call, and many more copies of REVOLUTION were distributed than ever before. .
On May Day itself, people joined together on a sound truck through the Montrose area with banners and red flags, drumming, chanting, and agitation.
Marchers at the immigrants rights rally in Gulfton welcomed the revolutionary message, and wanted to know more about this Party and Bob Avakian, and many took up the Red Flag..People also took up lots of stickers and red armbands declaring "We Are ALL Illegal" in the face of the new fascist law in Arizona.
The day was topped off by a celebration at a local taqueria and the watching of a clip from Bob Avakian's classic talk, "Revolution: Why it's necessary, Why it's Possible, What it's all about".
Several people joined in the activities that had not been a part of them in the past, and others expressed an interest in becoming part of this movement.

As a Mighty Force for REVOLUTION!
On March 8th, Revolution distributors held a rally in Sunnyside, particpated with others in an event in the evening organized by Creative Women Unite. We also attended a march of 2,000 in San Antonio, distributing the paper to hundreds of people.
Benefit for
Prisoners Revolutionary Literature Fund
This unique and inspiring event took place on
December 6th, 2009 at The Ensemble Theatre Performance Center
It was hosted by Ray Hill, founder/host of The Prison Show, and
Parnell Herbert, community activist, and playwright of "Angola 3"
The program featured Dramatic Readings of Prisoners' Letters by
Brother Said, James West, Phillip Brent, Sr., Tim'm West,
Jamilah Hoffman, and Alejandro del Fuego
Clyde Young, a member of the Revolutionary Communist Party, USA,
spoke of how he became a revolutionary and a
communist through his experiences and study in prison.
The program also featured Conscious Political Hip Hop by Mansa Musa
and Angie Joelle, and closed with a scene from "Angola 3" by Parnell Herbert, performed by Philip Brent, Sr.
Carl Dix Tour: From Buffalo Soldier to Revolutionary Communist
This event took place on November 11, 2009 at Texas Southern University's Thurgood Marshall School of Law.
October 22nd National Day of Protest to Stop Police Brutality, Repression, and the Criminalization of a Generation.
Activities in Houston included a speak-out, together with thousands around the country.

On Thursday, April 30, 2009 this very exciting event took place, in a packed lecture hall at Texas Southern University. There was a lot of "buzz" about this event from many different quarters -- students and faculty at TSU, basic working people in the apartments and housing projects, atheists, and religious people. This was an extremely significant event, and discussion spilled out into the hallways afterward, and at a local cafe. Many expressed a desire for this discussion continue.

Re-envisioning Revolution and Communism:
What IS Bob Avakian's New Synthesis?
This presentation followed by discussion took place on July 12, 2008, and was attended by a diverse crowd of people. The text of the presentation, given around the country -- and in Colon, Germany -- is available at www.revcom.us. It was followed up the next day with a session with Raymond Lotta on the first wave of socialist revolutions -- the Soviet Union from 1917-1954, and China from 1949 to 1976.
