Willow Garage founded 2006 develops non-military hardware and open source software for personal robotic applications. The latest project uses an iPod Touch, a high-quality display with different modes of interaction, to operate a mobile robot. The project is still a work in progress/proof of concept, but the developers hope in the coming months to make it a stable platform for ROS development.
